Our Policy Initiatives
Mandate Life saving medicine be present in certain places
Places such as airplanes and sitdown resturants have an obligation to have life saving medication available in first aid kits to save more lives.
Clear allergy warning
Require every restaurant to have a sign outside of it that lists each allergen that is served in the establishment.
Ingredient transparency
End “natural flavors”, “spices”, “Flavors”, and “artificial flavors”, “colors”, “natural colors”, “fruit/vegetable colors”.
Better staff training
Require comprehensive, standardized allergy training for all food service workers.
Allergy binder
Every restaurant must have a binder that clearly lists the ingredients of every food on the menu.
Ingredient derivation
Include where certain ingredients were derived from (example: xantham gum can be derived from either corn or soy).
Fryer transparency
Clearly define what foods are fried in certain fryers, as well as the oils used in each. Encourage separation of shellfish and other common allergens from non-allergen fryers.
Alcohol regulation
All packaged alcoholic beverages must contain a full ingredient list and allergy warning.
Ingredient updates
Restaurants and food manufacturers must send out a notice when a change to a foods ingredients are made through a common database that people with allergies can subscribe to. They will receive updates when anything they are allergic to or any foods and places they frequent are changed.
